Job Title: Spanish Bilingual-Bicultural Parent Consultant
Hrs/Week: 20 hrs.
Pay: $11-$15 Depending on Experience

Minimum Experience Required:
- • 3 years as oral translator.
- • 2 years experience in education, social work, human services or other related field.
Typical Job Duties:
Ensuring provision of RFENC services to Spanish-speaking clients; assisting in development of Spanish language materials including information packets and training materials; networking and outreach to organizations and agencies commonly involved in childhood disability services; planning & participation in meetings and collaborative activities for Spanish speaking clients; advocating for culturally competent, family friendly services and materials in community; input of data as needed; preparation of monthly and annual statistical reports; other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Skills Required:
- • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English.
- • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, including public speaking.
- • Strong interpersonal skills.
- • Ability to work as a team member with RFENC staff.
- • Proficiency with computers (PC) including word processing / business letters (MS Word), data base programs and e-mail.
- • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with parents and professionals.
- • Helpful if candidate has some knowledge of laws, regulations, and practices governing provision of services including IDEA, the Lanterman Act, and others.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work, meetings, etc. Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and empathize with parents. In addition, candidate should be able to foster positive relationships in the community and collaborate well with other parents and professionals.
Position includes sick pay, retirement match program, and a flexible schedule plus 14 partially paid holidays per year and a family-friendly team environment!
Work hours will be scheduled within our normal business hours of Monday – Friday, occasionally requiring work after hours and/or on Saturdays. Wage determined by experience and education.

Job Title: Respite Care Provider
Location: Shasta, Tehama & Trinity Counties
This position is continuously open.
Respite Care Providers are primarily responsible for providing care, guidance and mentoring to children, youth or adults with developmental disabilities. Through Rowell Family Empowerment of Northern California, respite care allows the family and/or primary caregivers to receive an occasional break of a few hours to as much as an overnight or two. All Respite care providers are classified as temporary employees (48 hours advance notice given by requesting parent.)
We are looking for loving people with some experience caring for those with a diagnosis, or at least a desire to learn about it. Perhaps a family member or one with a background in child development or special education would enjoy this opportunity. Sometimes family members of children with special needs have an interest, and they are welcome to apply. Individuals interested in being a part of our respite program will receive a training that includes, Mandated Reporting, Early Childhood Education, Teenagers and Adults with Developmental Disabilities. CPR and First Aid are a must to provide the best safety to our families. Ongoing training and support is provided by the agency.
